TwinGlaze® Compared other Double Glazing

Until now, the only way you could enjoy all the benefits of double glazing was to go down the costly and invasive path of a full frame window replacement involving stripping your home of all windows including curtains and all woodwork.

Removing and throwing out perfectly fine windows did not make environmental or financial sense.

VacGlaze™ Vacuum Insulated Double Glazing is the alternate solution that can be installed into any single glazed window to transform into a fully insulated double glazed window for you to enjoy all the savings and benefits of Genuine Double Glazing without the hassle, mess or expense of a full frame window replacement.

TwinGlaze® maintains the look and feel of your home by replacing the glass in your existing window frames with VacGlaze® Superior Double Glazing.

GLASS CONDENSATION

Moisture build up can occur on the inside surface of single glass when indoor heat escapes and the outside air temperature is colder than the temperature inside of the room.

Double Glazing your windows will substantially reduce unwanted condensation as well as the associated moisture and water damage, mildew, mould and associated health impacts to create a warmer, healthier and drier home.

How does the thermal spacer (Vacuum Insulated Gap) combat condensation?

VacGlaze™ Double Glazing features two panes of glass separated by a vacuum sealed void with all air removed to effectively create a superior insulating barrier between the outside and inside temperature of the room.

VacGlaze™ Vacuum Insulated Double Glazing can help reduce sound for better peace and comfort.

VacGlaze™ has a 34(Rw) Sound Reduction Value, providing a reduction in sound transmission compared to an unglazed opening. Your standard 4mm Single Glazing provides a 25(Rw) Sound Reduction Value.

Upgrading from Standard 4mm Single Glass may provide up to 9db of Sound Reduction.

Our Complete Service includes a thermal and acoustic window seal upgrade to boost total acoustic performance of your windows and doors.
VacGlaze™ Frosted Opaque Glass is available for your bathroom, ensuite or other areas in your home where you need to obscure the vision of your window.

VacGlaze™ Tinted is available where you want to maximise protection against direct sunlight (Radiant Heat) or slightly increase privacy by toning down the light from outside.
VacGlaze™ is processed at our quality control facilities in Victoria and the ACT and is installed by our in house technicians to ensure full compliance with Australian Standards and the highest level of workmanship.

VacGlaze™ Superior Double Glazing is covered by our 10 Year Warranty for your peace of mind.

Understanding Double Glazing Specifications

U-Values measure the rate of transfer of heat (energy loss) through all glass and double glazing to help you select the best performing glazing for your windows and doors.

Double Glazing with the lowest U-Value achieves the greatest energy efficiency and reduction in heat loss from your windows and doors.

Single Pane Glass has a U-Value of 5.8 which translates to virtually no protection against heat loss while standard double glazing can range from U-Value 1.4 to 2.4 depending on the glass combination used by other manufacturers in their double glazing units.

VacGlaze™ Vacuum Insulated Double Glazing boasts an impressive U-Value of U 0.7 to deliver superior protection against heat loss in Winter & heat gain in Summer.

A more in depth explanation can be found on our articles page : Understanding U-Values and Double Glazing Performance

RADIANT HEAT (direct sunlight)
Solar Heat Transfer in Double Glazing is measured by the units Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) which is the % of solar radiation entering a room.

Radiant Heat is the heat generated by direct sunlight through a window system. VacGlaze® Superior Double Glazing has a SHGC of 0.56.

VacGlaze™ double glazing effectively addresses radiant heat transfer into your home by reflecting 43% of solar radiation away from your home to reduce glare and Solar Heat Gain.

VacGlaze™ further boosts the thermal performance of your double glazing in colder days by reflecting the Infrared Heat you generate through your heating system back into your home in Winter.

VLT is a measure of Visible Light that is transmitted through a material.

VacGlaze™ Clear
VLT: 81%        SHGC: 0.56
TwinGlaze® Clear allows 80% of outside light into the home and blocks 43% of Solar Radiation from Entering the Home.

VacGlaze™ Tinted
VLT: 38%        SHGC: 0.54
TwinGlaze® Tinted allows 38% of outside light into the home and blocks 46% of Solar Radiation from Entering the Home.

VacGlaze utilises Low E Coating which achieves a reduction in UV Radiation from entering the home as it reflects the radiant solar heat that is emitted by the sun.

It can protect from UV Radiation which can help reduce fading of floors and interior furnishings.

General Questions

What is the typical cost of TwinGlaze® Double Glazing?

The quantity of individual double glazed units required to double glaze your existing windows along with your total Production Volume Discount will determine the final pricing of your double glazing.
