How Double Glazing Improves Window Insulation

Double glazing is a sealed glass unit made from two panes of glass, separated by a thermal spacer and an insulating layer, this can be argon gas or vacuum extraction (no air)

How Double Glazing acts as Insulation for your Windows and Doors.

• Thermal Barrier: The vacuum seal or argon gas between the two panes significantly reduces heat transfer.

Your exisiting single glazing is uninsulated and provides little to no resistance to the transfer of heat.  Essentially, if you were to touch your single glass right now it would feel the same as the outside temperature.

Through the combination of two panes of glass and a thermal insulating barrier you can now create a seperatation between between your home and the outside environment.

The thermal barrier between the glass reduces heat transfer through the window, helping keep unwanted heat outside during summer and valuable warmth inside during winter.

• Condensation Reduction: The interior glass pane stays closer to the temperature of the so so that internal condensation is less likely to form on the double glazing.

This occurs because we have now created a seperation between inside and outside.
